Fraunhofer ENAS

Fraunhofer ENAS – RTO – Chemnitz, Paderborn & Regensburg (D)

The Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems (ENAS) key strength lies in the holistic development of intelligent systems for various applications. Its research activities range from the development of novel process integration approach, innovative wafer bonding technologies and packaging technologies. This leads to the production of electronic components, micro- and nano sensors, and actuators, as well as developing system concepts and system integration technologies, including communication interfaces.

Fraunhofer ENAS uses state-of-the-art and AI-supported test and reliability methods to transfer the developed solutions into practical applications. The institute guides customer projects from the initial idea through to the design phase supported by various simulation methods, technology development or implementation using existing technologies, to the final tested prototypes. Furthermore, pilot line fabrication for new technologies is provided.

Within the HyPACT project Fraunhofer ENAS is responsible for WP 2 – Design and Design Methods – to consider the interests of all project partners and to destill the design of the demonstrators. With the realized test structures simulations for design of reliability and active and passive tests are made. Furthermore, residual stress measuring methods will be implemented on the fabricated structures.
